After a few months learning curve, Shulan's is plaesed to announce advanced in house engraving services. We are able to engrave on a varitey of matgerials including crystal. Logos, special commemorations, children's drawings are now able to be transformed into that unique gift without a huge expense or long time-line. 40 basic fonts including Greek and Hebrew give great choices for design. 4,000 more fonts available.

We have rfecently completed several prestigeous community award pieces and in all cases, the awardees were so impressed with the piece, that they made a special trip into Shulan's to say thanks!

Couture Jewelry Show

The designers are back with leading fashion in jewelry while still keeping in mind the sentiments of the current economy. In the coing months, Shulan's will be bringiing in some new product lines and reviing a few old ones who have surprised everyone with the great styules and pricing. It is ok for ladies to be beautiful and they can be beautiful without being blingy!

As oone of the presenters fro the Town & Country design awards, I had the privlige of present the gold catagory. The Italian designers had won the previous four awards and ended the acceptance speech with "Viva Italiano". I had as three finalist, two great Italian firms and Heather Morre Jewelry. Well the winner,"From the home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" was Heather Moorre. She truely created a magnificentnbracelt from a letter her younger sister had written.

Also Shulan's is adding a new piece of equipment allowing for custom etching on metals, crystal ect. More to follow...but let your imagination run!

Engraving on gifts and awards

Many gifts for awards, retirements, or other recognitions, are appropriate for engraving. There a few considerations to be made that help determine what to say and where the engraving should be placed.

First of all, is the gift to be placed in a office, lobby, or for the recipients home? Gift that go home should be sublter in both message and placement. For exampe, a clock presented for a retirement often will have the engraved plaque place on the back so as not to make the gift a trophy. Gift that stay in the workplace shuld have the message place in a visible position.

Another consideration for engraving is the message itself. Too long of a mesage makes for an un-appealing engraving. "Joe Smith" thank you for many years of devoted service and helping XYZ Project be a success" That is a bit much. Usually I reccomend "JOe Smith, Project Name, Date if important, Company" The rest of the sentiment should be made at the presentation or with a card with the gift.

Of course, every gift to be engraved has it's own spefic considerations to make it convey the message of the giver. Shulan's will help find the appropriate gift and offer guidance for the engraved message so your presentation or remberance is appreciated and significant.

Only Americans buy boxed five piece place settings. There are ways to pick china that truely allows you to epress youreself and offer you the flexibility to be able to ask that most important question; "How do I want to set my table today?" When you have those choices, your china is not boring and you look forward to using it.

Get the pieces you will use. With your everyday china, do you really need 12 mug or cups? I just registered a couple today that choose a charger, dinner plate and salad plate for thier china. It is what workd for the way they choose to enertain.

Congratualtions to those newly engaged couples. On the list of a thousand and one things to do before the wedding, Bridal Regisry is one of them. Picking everyday and good china can be a daunting task.
First if you are not thrilled to the gills with it, it is the wrong product. Today's china paterns are so versitle and fun to use, don't take boring as a chioce. Everyday china sould be durable and intersting to use because you use it EVERYDAY! It is the one not to skimp on.
Good china decorates your table top, not your dinning room. You will probable have your good china thru several dinning rooms you will own in a lifetime. If your good china does not allow you to aks "How do I want to set my table today?", you will use it five times and then pull it out when you have to. That is a waste of money. With good china, you should use it often. Having frineds over to cook burgers on a grill and watch a ballgame TV, set a pretty table for three reaseons.:

1. sign of respect for your guests

2. creates an event separate form day to day living

3. kick back and enjoy life.

We all work long hours and have hassles but use your china to take to time to enjoy the beauty of life.
